Inwood Sail Academy
In April 2018, HRCS launched a pilot program at the Inwood middle school Salomé Ureña campus with 15 students. After the success of the pilot, HRCS solidified the model and school partnership, and the program launched with 25 students for the 2018-19 academic year. Today, HRCS works with 75 students from 2 partner schools, Salome Ureña and Atmosphere Academy.
The Inwood program provides year-round, long-term Youth Development programming that offers academic enrichment and support to help students succeed as they transition to high school and beyond. By 2020, HRCS will deliver a three-year STEM enrichment, sailing, and social emotional development program for 75 students. In addition to academics, students will develop job skills and be eligible for paid part-time internships.
